Colleague/Datatel Password must be changed every 30
days. Remember to change your Colleague Login/Datatel Password every 30
days. The password must be different by
at least three characters and have the following characteristics: 1) minimum of six characters in length; 2)
maximum of eight characters in length; 3) at least two alpha characters; 4) at
least one numeric or special character.
Try changing ALL passwords the first working Monday of every month for
ease of remembering.
Save UI-QueryBuilder settings. In Colleague UI and QueryBuilder you can
change your default settings. Make the
changes that you want (e.g. change the 'verb' from SORT to LIST; change the
output from SCREEN to REPORT VIEWER; change 'Timeout' or 'Retries', etc.) and
then click the SET DEFAULT button. A
warning box will pop up saying that the current setting will become the users
defaults, click Yes. Now, when you come
into QueryBuilder you will not have to reset these items.Can't find a particular sentence you saved? At
the colon prompt/SHEL prompt do the following:
SELECT VOC WITH @ID LIKE your login . . .
press the enter key; ESEARCH VOC
press the enter key; enter the string your are looking for (e.g filename -
VOUCHERS, PERSON; field - LAST.NAME, STU.TERMS, etc.) press the enter key. You will get back an active select list with
all your VOC items that have your requested criteria. You can then just list them LIST VOC F2L F3L
F4L to find the one you need.
You can narrow the list that displays on a lookup resolution
screen. Yes, you can do this at any lookup prompt for the file
the lookup is being performed on. The
syntax is semi-colon fieldname criteria. e.g. ;PERSON.EMAIL.ADDRESSES joe.cool@tstc.edu. This

If you would like to get
faster support when you have a problem, please submit a helpdesk ticket. When you enter in a ticket an email is sent
to the appropriate parties so they know of your problem. If it is an emergency, just follow it up with
a call to the helpdesk at ext. 3934. This
number always has a person assigned to it so even if you get voice mail, leave
a message, someone will get your message.
Screens cut off in UI?
If you are having problems
when going into Colleague screens and the right side is cut off, try turning
off your tree. This gives a lot more
room and you should be to see the entire screen. To do this you just click the box to the left
on the question mark (?) on the UI toolbar.
This just toggles the tree on and off. When Colleague Software is upgraded. The
Colleague software patches are normally loaded the first Thursday of every
month in the early morning hours. The
patches that are on the test account (that all have tested) are moved to the
live account and new patches for testing are put on test. The test account data is also refreshed with
live account data.
Quarterly Celebrates!
System office has a quarterly celebrate where
all system office employees get together.
This is so that we all get to know each other better and get to know
what each other does and what our offices/departments have accomplished This is hosted each quarter by one of the
Vice Chancellors. Plan on joining us as
we always have a great time!
