Did You Know
TSTC launched a paperless
on-line hiring process, beginning in October 2004 at TSTC Waco
and completed systemwide at TSTC Harlingen in December 2004.
The process, which took nearly two years to develop,
was created specifically for TSTC in partnership with Profiles International
of Waco. It is a total applicant management system (AMS).
The AMS allows job seekers to view and apply
for any job openings at any of the TSTC locations from anywhere
they have internet access. The AMS is also the process by which
present employees apply for new jobs within TSTC. Employees must
complete the AMS hiring process the first time they apply for a
job opening.
Once completed, the data need only be updated
as needed and candidates can apply for future openings with just
two clicks of the mouse.
Applicants receive automatic email responses informing
them of the status of their application or they can log on to check
their application status, update their application at anytime, or
apply for additional job openings without having to complete another
application.
Hiring managers receive automatic emails alerting
them they have candidates to review. The managers can access the
applicants’ complete information from their office, home,
while traveling, Starbucks, or anywhere they have internet access.
Human Resources at TSTC Waco, Human and Organization
Development, and Educational Effectiveness teams are testing the
process of importing the hired applicant’s information into
Colleague, thereby, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
The same teams are also working to add on-line
paperless personnel requisitions. They expect to have the requisitions
on-line before the end of calendar year 2005.
